We now have an opportunity for a Designer to join our new team, working on an exciting AAA console product based on a globally-recognised IP for a major publisher.

A Game Designer at Electric Square will:

Design and implement behaviour of non-player characters
Assist lead designers in creating new and exciting features and content
Implement game features and mechanisms in commercial and proprietary game engines
Ensure smooth and clear communication both within the design team and the team as a whole
Respond to and implement feedback from reviews and playtests
Can do rapid prototyping to proof game ideas

Requirements

2+ years of professional experience in mobile or console game development with at least one released project as a designer
Hands on experience with designer tools and proficient with commercial or proprietary game engines (like Unreal / Unity)
Experience with a scripting language (like C# / LUA)
Experience with creating AI for non-playable characters
Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills
Plus: experience working with animations and VFX

Skills:

Able to concisely articulate game concepts and analyze game mechanics
Understand feedback and can make a plan to address it
Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage time and workload effectively including planning, organizing, and prioritizing. Able to break down and structure tasks to meet deadlines efficiently.
Highly self-motivated with a positive mental attitude and pride in delivering quality
